Habitat fragmentation
The abundance of ticks depends on the size and suitability of the habitat, the presence of suitable hosts and the microclimate (e.g. defined by temperature, relative humidity and saturation deficit). We map the size and spatial distribution of habitats studied by us. Therefore, we will be able to determine whether the density of tick larvae, nymphs and adults is influenced by the fragment size and / or the degree of isolation of the fragments.
